Pour cette rentrée 2013, le Studio Sandra Recio est heureux de présenter des travaux récents de l’artiste italien Loris Cecchini (1969, Milan) basé entre Berlin et Toscane. Les collages et installations de l’exposition « The size plus the size of the sample » aux frontières du quotidien et du fantastique, mettent en défaut les perceptions du spectateur et laissent la part belle à son imaginaire.
Ces œuvres explorent de larges structures ouvertes, basées sur des modules simples en papier, en acier ou en matériau composite, désignés par l’artiste et assemblés de manière industrielle, où chaque élément particulier contribue à la création d’un « organisme ». Ces installations, dont on ne sait si elles forment un microcosme ou un macrocosme, constituent une métaphore biologique étonnante et émouvante, aux frontières entre les sphères scientifique et esthétique, entre production industrielle et suspension poétique.

For this exhibition at the Studio Sandra Recio, Loris Cecchini (1969, Milan) surprises us once again with a series of natural and ethereal three-dimensional collages, which are at the same time archives of his past work and evolution of his large organic installations. Cecchini’s works explore large and open structures based on simple paper modules, steel, or composite material, designed by the artist and produced industrially, where every single element contributes to the creation of an "organism". These installations, which may represent a microcosm or macrocosm, constitute an amazing and moving biological metaphor, the boundaries between scientific and aesthetic spheres, between mass production and poetic suspension.
