La spontanéité du sentiment amoureux est un des principaux thèmes explorés par le cinéaste américain John Cassavetes et constitue un des fondements de sa philosophie, dans laquelle l’amour est à la fois une forme de savoir et une manière de vivre dans le monde. Cette perception a inspiré la plasticienne berlinoise Johanna Abraham pour Liebe, sa dernière exposition présentée au Studio Sandra Recio. Au travers d’une série de larges formats sur papier, l’artiste poursuit son éloge de l’imprévu et de la lenteur, à l’inverse des idéaux actuels d’innovation et de progrès.
Johanna Abraham est née en 1978 et vit et travaille à Berlin. Liebe est sa deuxième exposition personnelle au Studio Sandra Recio.

Love, and the spontaneity that often accompanies it, is one of the prevalent themes explored by American filmmaker John Cassavetes, forming the basis of his philosophy which claims that love is both a form of knowledge and a way of living in the world. This particular vision of love is the inspiration for Berlin-based artist Johanna Abraham’s latest exhibition, Liebe at the Studio Sandra Recio. Through a series of new works, the artist pursues a reflection on the theme of deceleration, blurring idealized conceptions of progress and innovation.
Johanna Abraham was born in 1978 and now lives and works in Berlin. Liebe is her second solo exhibition at Studio Sandra Recio.
