It's in the idea of creating more than just a band or a credit line in an album that WAYKOPP was born. In 2013, after becoming tired of singing alone on stage, Jon stumble upon two musicians, Lord M (bass) and President GG (drums) which led them to create the band WAYKOPP, closely followed by the release of the sunniest EP ever, "Wake Up!".
For many months now, our three part-time rockstars have locked themselves away in their rehearsal room to compose their first album, "Too Loud? Too Old!", which was originally created to capture their California musical influences, but what they soon discovered - through the mixing and mastering skills of Christian Carvin on "Too Loud? Too Old! - is that their songs are coated with a British influence too!
This has come from their collaboration with full member of the Waykoppains, Mat Roff - the British illustrator who became the architect of the group's graphic identity since its inception. Combining idyllic rhythms of pop-punk and visuals inspired by the Mayan civilization, this album is a cocktail of catchy choruses and songs longing to be played at full volume on stage.
All this has allowed Waykopp to tour Canada - the country of Sum 41 and Billy Talent, and this year to visit Southern Europe to meet their audience and give them an album they truly deserve.
