En 2013, Capricci Films propose à Rodolphe Burger, plus que jamais globe-trotter musicien, d’élaborer une interprétation musicale contemporaine de In the Land of the Head Hunters. Fabriquant des sons mêlant musique électronique et chants traditionnels indiens préenregistrés, Rodolphe Burger improvise une musique qui accompagne la montée en tension d’une intrigue incandescente où l’amour conduit à la guerre et au meurtre.

Rodolphe Burger fonde le groupe Dernière Bande qui deviendra Kat Onoma en 1986. Parallèlement à cette collaboration qu’il mènera jusqu’en 2004,
il développe une carrière solo. Sa musique est imprégnée de rock, de blues, de jazz, de folk, de post-punk et d’électronique. Il signe plusieurs
albums solo, participe ou en réalise de nombreux autres, notamment ceux de Bashung, Higelin, Hardy, Balibar.
In the Land of Head Hunters est un film réalisé en 1914 par Edward S. Curtis, l’un des plus grands photographes ethnologues des Amérindiens. Mi-fiction, mi-documentaire, ce long métrage s’inspire de la vie des Kwakiutl de l’île de Vancouver. Motana, fils d’un grand chef indien, part à l’aventure pour acquérir des pouvoirs surnaturels. La nuit, il rêve de la belle Naida. Il se promet de l’épouser à son retour. Mais la jeune fille est aussi convoitée par le féroce sorcier qui règne sur les chasseurs de têtes. Craignant ses terribles sortilèges, Waket, le père de Naida, lui a destiné sa fille. Une guerre entre tribus se prépare…

Fashioning sounds that blend electronic music with pre-recorded traditional Indian songs, Rodolphe Burger creates music that accompanies the rise in tension of an incandescent plot in which love leads to war and murder.

Rodolphe Burger founded the group Dernière Bande, which became Kat Onoma in 1986. In parallel with this collaboration that he ran until 2004,
he developed a solo career. His music is impregnated with rock, blues, jazz, folk, post-punk and electronic. He signed several solo albums and
participated in or produced numerous others, in particular those of Bashung, Higelin, Hardy, Balibar.
In the Land of the Head Hunters is a film produced in 1914 by Edward S. Curtis, one of the greatest ethnologist photographers of the Amerindians. Half-fiction, half-documentary, this feature film is inspired by the life of the Kwakiutl on Vancouver Island. Motana, son of a great Indian chief, ventures forth in search of supernatural powers. During the night he dreams of the beautiful Naida, and vows to marry her upon his return. But the young girl is also coveted by the ferocious sorcerer who reigns over the head hunters. Fearing his terrible spells Waket, Naida’s father, has promised him his daughter. A war between tribes is brewing…
