Eldorado by Laurent Gaudé, stage production and adaptation by Patrick Mohr.

Eldorado is first and foremost a Romanesque piece on a burning contemporary actuality theme: emigration. To study "Eldorado" with the students means to give a face, identity, a humanity to all anonym migrants. It means comprehending and feeling how important French classes are for the student's citizen education.

The novel by Laurent Gaudé seems perfectly appropriate also because of its literary qualities: a story of initiation, complex characters who keep their share of mystery, a polyphonic narration, a poetic writing and mythological senses.
The piece will allow the students to develop their reflexion, but also their imagination and sensitivity.
